Welcome to the Fromeside Benefice of Churches

Coalpit Heath | Frampton Cotterell | Iron Acton | Winterbourne | Winterbourne Down

The Acting Bishop of Bristol, the Rt Rev'd Neil Warwick, is delighted to announce that the Rev'd Dave Jones has been appointed as the Rector of the Fromeside Benefice. Dave is currently the Associate Minister of Fromeside and has been Acting Rector during the vacancy. He will also provide pastoral care for Frenchay alongside the current ministry team while exploring proposals to bring Frenchay into the Fromeside group of churches. The licensing date is to be confirmed, likely mid-October.

Dave says:

'It is with tremendous joy that I have accepted the role of Rector of the Fromeside Benefice, an area and a group of churches that feel like home to Elaine and myself. I have served God and the community in this place in various roles and feel that God has called me to lead the benefice into the coming years. I am delighted that you have affirmed this call. I look forward to getting to know Frenchay and exploring how the six villages can work together constructively to enable faith to flourish in this area. I thank you for your prayerful and practical support as we continue our exciting pilgrimage of faith together.''

A Welcome from the Acting Rector of the Fromeside Benefice

The Fromeside Benefice is a family of five parishes, each with its own personality and style, yet working together to serve God and support one another as we journey in faith, live in hope, and act in love.

As a collective, we provide resources and support for our 'sixth' congregation, Messy Church, which meets in St Saviour's Hall. We assist almost all of the primary schools in our area in various ways, regardless of their affiliation. We delight in celebrating key moments in family lives within our community.

Why not come and see and see for yourself?
